Concurrent Enrollment

​​​​​Concurrent enrollment is an early college program that provides high school students with the opportunity to enroll in courses at local community colleges.

COS Concurrent Enrollment Steps

  • Before you register at COS, please work with your EC to pick out classes that will help you meet your goals. 

  • For new students to COS: Click on this link and “create an account”. You will need a personal email for this step. Never use your erclc email for college applications. Make sure to write down your CCCApply username and password and keep it in a safe place for future use.

    Then, register for COS. You will need your SSN and a copy of your high school transcript. You will be asked questions about your grades in Math and English so ask your EC for your transcript first. 

     

    For students who already have a “MyGiant” account you can skip this step . 

     

  • Applications take 1-2 business days to process. Check your personal email and write down your new cos email. You will use this regularly. 

    You will also receive another email with your @Banner ID and a temporary password to log into the MyGiant student portal. Write down your username and keep it in a safe place. 

    If you have not received these emails from COS within 2 business days of submitting your application, please call the COS admissions office at 559-737-4883

  • This section has TWO important forms. You will be required to log into MyGiant so please make sure you have your username and password available. 

    Important info before you begin:

    1. Parent form is only required for students NEW to COS or for students who did not take a course last semester or this semester.
    2. When prompted to enter your school counselor information, please use your ECs email.
    3. When prompted to enter the courses you wish to take, please enter only the courses that are approved by your EC. If you have not yet talked to your EC, please stop and do that first. 

     

    Important Forms to Submit: (both require you to log into MyGiant)

    Student + EC form (all students)

    Student+Parent form (only for new students to COS or those not currently enrolled)

     

    Students can check the status of their forms in MyGiant by selecting the Dynamic Forms app.

     

  • You can check your registration date in MyGiant or contact your EC. You can also email alisha@erclc.org if you need help.

    Add/drop classes in MyGiant and you are all set!

  • If your student is new to COS or has skipped a semester or two, you will be asked to submit a permission form.

    Parents will receive an email from notify@ngwebsolutions.com.

    Parents will be asked to create a user profile and confirm your account through your email. 

    Parents will be asked to submit a digital signature and then submit the form.

Assist.org

 

Concurrent students have the advantage of completing courses towards their general education requirements while still in high school. However, not every course is transferable. Students are encouraged to use assist.org to determine if your community college courses are transferable.
